Recently Cedar Park received six inches of snow, and the lows got into the single digits, which is extremely rare for Central Texas. It also was below freezing for 144 hours which broke the record for the longest time below freezing. The previous record was set in 1983, and it was below freezing for 140 hours.
I was pretty lucky in that I had both electricity and water. One-third of the area did not have electricity for about three days, and many people did not have water.
The six inches of snow fell on 2/15/21, and it made for some good pictures. I went out and snapped these pictures at about 9 AM, and the temperature was around 10 degrees. I used my Nikon 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR.
Photography is about getting out there and taking photos. Although it was cold, I was happy to capture something that is rare in the Central Texas area.
