35 mm film is not practical, but is a lot of fun

Once in a while, I like to shoot 35 mm film because I want to get that old vintage look. When I shoot film, I typically use my Pentax K1000. It cost about a dollar per shot when you add up the cost of film, developing, and scanning.  I shot Kodak ColorPlus 200, a consumer film, and it has a warm look. It is one of Kodak’s cheapest color films, but it does have a bit more grain than more expensive films. I don’t worry too much about grain on film because if I am concerned about having no grain, I will shoot digital.

These shots below were taken locally in Cedar Park, TX. If you want to shoot film, it is cheap to get a used film camera. I recommend checking out KEH.com. I got the film developed at Holland Photo along with the scans. Bear in mind you should only shoot 35 mm if you want to have a different look. Any modern DSLR or mirrorless camera will be superior to 35 mm.
