Road trip to Saguaro national park

I took a road trip to Saguaro national park which is near Tucson, AZ. The excursion took five days and I drove over 1900 miles. The saguaro is a giant cactus that can grow up to 40 feet. I spent a day in the park and hiked a couple of trails. On one path I hiked up the side of a mountain which provided a good view. The other walk was flat and had petroglyphs. They were carved by the Hohokam who lived in the area from 450 to 1450 AD. The Hohokam were known for building irrigation canals that were 100’s of miles long. They were the original farmers of the region and grew cotton, corn, beans, squash, and agave.

In addition I stopped in Tombstone and visited Boothill Graveyard which is the most interesting part of Tombstone. Some of the most popular burials are Tom McLaury, Frank McLaury, and Billy Clanton who were killed at the O.K. Corral. The town of Tombstone is a bit of a tourist trap since there is a lot of useless merchandise for sale. I watched a reenactment of the O.K. Corral shoot-out which was fun.

As always I took pictures and will post here. I used my Nikon D850 with my Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 VR. I also snapped a roll of film with my Pentax K1000 and shot Kodak Color Plus 200 film.
