I recently visited the Elisbet Ney museum in Austin. Elisabet Ney was a German born sculptor who came to Texas when she was 39. She was born in 1833 and died in 1907.The museum is actually the house she lived in and was built in 1893. She made the Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston statues for the state of Texas that are located in the Washington D.C. capitol. Both of these statues were installed in 1905.
The museum is free to go to and you can see where she actually made her statues. The entrance fee is free and you can go through the museum in about 20 minutes. I will post some pictures below which I took with my Nikon D850. Overall this is a nice snapshot of Texas history.
